Traffic in Joplin, MO
March 13, 2008 – 12:37 pmDriving around town on my lunch break, just a simple errand – running to the bank – took 50 minutes to get from 7th & Schifferdecker to 7th & Duquesne and back.
I can’t understand for the life of me, how so many drivers can be so much slower than the speed limit. Speed limit is 35 most of the way, turning to 45 for a little while. And yet, you still have drivers going 25-30 without a care in the world. Yes, the speed limit, is supposed to be a maximum speed for driving, however, most people I know look at the speed limit as the speed you’re supposed to be driving, weather permitting.
Even this is ok for lunch hour, I understand there’s more traffic, etc. BUT, on Saturday afternoons, getting from my house to 4th & Rangeline, and back to my house(which is just blocks away from 7th & Rangeline) takes anywhere from 15-20 minutes! I live close to the worst intersection in Joplin…
